Ghosts take up generic forms which can change, depending on what the ghost is trying to achieve.

Common Ghost with its face ablaze

This ghost appeared with its face on fire. It was in agony and was moaning and shouting. Its effort to save itself proved futile and it finally burned completely to ashes.

Spirit (Pishāch) with a melting face

The face of this spirit appeared normal at first. Soon it melted in front of the seeker. Such ghosts manifest in lit frankincense.

Common Ghost with a disfigured face

This ghost was seen at the venue of a sacrificial fire (known as Yadnya) performed for protection of seekers of SSRF from negative energies in SSRF Ashram in India. It had a lean, longish face with a lot of black marks on it.

Common Ghost with a howling face

This ghost appeared with its mouth open in a howling gesture. Its teeth were like big fangs.

Demon (Rākshas) with a menacing face

This demon appeared in black colour suddenly with an explosion. The seeker was startled.

Common Ghost with the face of a demon

This ghost appeared in front of the seeker when she was watching a local procession of masks of demons. It had a menacing look. It was the ghost of person who had been hanged.

The seeker saw many ghosts howling together in a variety of shapes.

The seeker was watching video footage of a local procession of masks of demons to select footage for a video on the malpractices in this custom. When she closed her eyes, she saw this face. It was trying to scare her.
