What are prescription chants?

SSRF advises continuation of conventional medical treatment along with spiritual healing remedies for the treatment of physical and psychiatric illnesses.

Readers are advised to take up any spiritual healing remedy at their own discretion.

Prescription chants are those chants, which are used to overcome problems where the root cause is in the spiritual dimension. In a way they act as spiritual healing remedies and are thus different from the chants used for spiritual growth.

Let us understand this concept through an analogy. When we are ill we go to a doctor who diagnoses the specific medical cause of our illness and gives us a prescription for medicine directed to the diagnosed cause of illness. For example:

  • In case of infection, an antibiotic is prescribed which alleviates the illness by killing the infecting germs.
  • In case of high blood pressure, antihypertensive drugs are prescribed which basically act at various levels to reduce the hypertension, i.e. the high blood pressure.

It is important to note that irrespective of where the drug is discovered or manufactured and irrespective of the culture or religion of the patient, the drugs have universal effect on all.

Similarly, through spiritual research we have found specific chants that work like specific medicine to alleviate specific spiritual problems. For example, the chant ‘Shrī Gurudev Datta’ is a specific spiritual medicine for various problems like inability to get married, marital disharmony, inability to bear children, etc. which are manifestations of distress due to departed ancestors. Various prescription chants to alleviate specific physical and mental illnesses are given on our website.

It is important to note that the effectiveness of the above mentioned chants is universal and beyond the boundaries of culture or religion.
