To love unconditionally is so hard to practise let alone master. Yet when someone does display it, it is indicative of their Divine nature. For those of us who aspire to reach God, Paratpar Guru Dr Athavale is an embodiment of unconditional love whom we can learn from.

1. Introduction – The unconditional love of Paratpar Guru Dr Athavale
Every once in a while, in the history of our world, a special spiritually evolved Saint is born with the spiritual capacity to take the whole of humanity forward in their spiritual progress to God-realisation.
Paratpar Guru Dr Athavale is one such rare and revered Saint.
He has touched the lives of thousands of seekers and has guided them to grow Spiritually with the precision, sensitivity, softness and mastery which only a great Saint could. Due to His guidance in spiritual practice, over 100 seekers have attained Sainthood and hundreds more are well on their way to attaining Sainthood. This is a unique achievement in the spiritual history of the world.
Ask seekers and they would be able to recount to you the various anecdotes and experiences in their spiritual journeys that are etched in their hearts, which are related to Paratpar Guru Dr Athavale. Seekers fondly refer to Him as Param Pujya Doctor. Param Pujya Doctor is on their minds and lips in times of spiritual well-being and spiritual distress as they call out to Him just as children would call out to their parents as their only pillar of strength.
However, if there is one common Divine quality of our Param Pujya Doctor, which all seekers remember dearly and gives them the fortitude to overcome all obstacles in their lives, it is His Priti (i.e. His Divine unconditional love). Just as bees are attracted to flowers, the Priti of Param Pujya Doctor has been his most endearing Divine quality attracting seekers from all corners of the world and inspiring them to resolve to persevere in their spiritual practice.
In this article, to celebrate His birthday, we humbly pay homage to Paratpar Guru Dr Athavale by sharing vignettes of His Priti and why for thousands of seekers, He is the embodiment of God’s love for humanity.
2. Having spiritual love from His early days
After Paratpar Guru Dr Athavale became a doctor, He very quickly realised that the mind of a person is the reason why he suffers and also that the mind has a tremendous influence on one’s physical health. Therefore, in order to help people more holistically He started to research the mind, especially the subconscious mind. Later during His practice, sometimes His patients would not have the money to pay for the consultation. In such cases, not only would He not charge them for treatment, but He would also provide medicines for free along with giving them money for their bus fare to return home.
Some patients did not get cured by conventional medicines. These same patients would try alternative spiritual options by visiting spiritual healers and Saints and with the spiritual treatment provided by them they got cured. When they met Paratpar Guru Dr Athavale again, they would share with Him how they got cured through spiritual means. Even though Paratpar Guru Dr Athavale was an atheist at the time, out of His desire to help people, He put His personal beliefs aside and went to explore the spiritual practices and treatments that they were speaking about. He discovered a world beyond modern science’s worldview, and from that moment onwards His Divine spiritual mission began and the rest as they say is history.
3. Embarking on His spiritual journey
When a person starts spiritual practice, he is mostly thinking about himself. But in the case of Paratpar Guru Dr Athavale it was different. From the very beginning, He took up His spiritual practice like a mission not only for himself but for others too. Spirituality was an unknown territory for Him (due to His science background). In the beginning, it was not easy for Him. He would drive for long distances every weekend to meet various Saints to ask them numerous questions on Spirituality and to learn from them. He would document his notes meticulously on a typewriter as in those days personal computers were not available. Later, He would cyclostyle these notes for the benefit of others.
Soon He met His Guru His Holiness Bhaktaraj Maharaj (a Saint of the highest order).
In a short period of time, pleased with His spiritual practice and service, His Guru blessed Him and asked Him to write spiritual books to guide people on how to do spiritual practice in the current era.
4. Paratpar Guru Dr Athavale’s unconditional love (Priti) for humanity
Paratpar Guru Dr Athavale’s unconditional love for humanity is enshrined in His tireless efforts to help every jiva (embodied soul) to progress spiritually. Given below are some examples of His yearning to follow His Guru’s guidance and spiritually uplift society.
1. Dedicated to writing spiritual Holy books
On the basis of that one sentence from His Guru (mentioned at the bottom of section 3), from that moment onwards Paratpar Guru Dr Athavale dedicated His entire life to write spiritual Holy books that a common person can understand. To date over 300 spiritual Holy books have been written. This Knowledge in the books is not simply quoting other sacred texts. It is unique Knowledge where at least 50-70% of the Knowledge is Divine Knowledge obtained through advanced sixth sense which is not available anywhere else in the world. These books will guide humanity for the rest of Kaliyug. Even when He is ill, He continues to persevere in the satseva (service unto God) of writing books. These books are available at a very nominal rate.
2. Giving the Path of Guru’s Grace (Gurukrupayoga) to humanity
The Guru disciple lineage is the spiritual legacy of ancient India. It is based on the disciple making earnest efforts for spiritual practice as per the guidance of His Guru. Disciples in the previous eras would go to great lengths by undertaking intense penance and sacrifice to make spiritual progress. Only then would true Gurus accept them and guide them further till God-realisation.
However, Paratpar Guru Dr Athavale, due to His intense desire for all of humanity to progress and with the blessings of His Guru, founded the path of Guru’s grace (Gurukrupayoga). This path takes the best of all other spiritual paths to God. The unique benefit of following this path is that any seeker from any part of the world can make rapid spiritual progress in one lifetime itself and realise God. In doing so, He has given a chance to every jiva to grow spiritually, (not just the spiritually evolved). This is true spiritual love.
Because of His research into the conscious and subconscious mind, He pioneered the Personality Defect Removal (PDR) Process. This process helps to purify the mind and helps to lay the foundation for rapid spiritual growth. Guidance on this process is provided free of charge. It has helped many people gain stability of mind, along with improving their personalities and outlooks towards life.
3. Guides people at the spiritual level so that they can progress at a faster rate
It is very easy to provide guidance at a psychological level by pandering to everyone’s likes and hence keeping everyone happy. By doing so, one can gain a large following. However, the problem with this approach is that spiritual progress does not happen as it should. Paratpar Guru Dr Athavale’s approach has always been to guide seekers purely at a spiritual level. Time is precious and there is not a moment to lose, and only guidance at the spiritual level can help a person progress the fastest. It is for this reason that His guidance is simple and direct so that no time of the seeker is wasted. He recommends that everyone practise the Personality Defect Removal Process even though it is a harder path.
4. Spiritual Research for humanity
We are all products of an educational system that is based on a modern scientific outlook. Unfortunately, this type of education completely ignores the spiritual aspect of life. However, what most people do not know is that the spiritual aspect of life is what affects us the most and will determine whether we have a life of happiness or suffering. To this end, Paratpar Guru Dr Athavale has developed an entire research department which conducts spiritual research on every aspect of life.
This spiritual research is conducted using aura and energy scanners and uses the advanced sixth of the seekers of the spiritual research team. Paratpar Guru Dr Athavale mentors the spiritual research team and is also instrumental in the verification of the results. It is because of His deep insight into the spiritual dimension that we become clear as to what experiments to run in the first place. For example, a modern researcher would never think of investigating whether black should be worn to a funeral or for that matter worn at all. This is because the very thought that black has negative spiritual repercussions would not enter his mind as a topic for research given that it is so popular nowadays.
The main purpose of this research is to help people understand how their actions and customs affect them at a spiritual level. For example, “How does colour, music, art, food, etc. affect us at a spiritual level ?” People are often surprised to learn how many things they do on a day-to-day basis actually emit negative vibrations, which ultimately end in problems and suffering.
Along with this, the spiritual research conducted has shed light on the spiritual dimension and how negative energies can be extremely disruptive in our lives, while positive energies and Deities (different aspects of God Principle) can provide spiritual well-being. He has been instrumental in making the world aware of the fact that between the years of 1999 and 2023, there has been a major subtle battle in the spiritual dimension, the effect of which will drastically affect life on Earth as we know it, culminating in a 3rd World War.
The knowledge about negative energies and their modus operandi has helped thousands of people worldwide to identify problems that are spiritual in nature. Paratpar Guru Dr Athavale has not stopped there. He has provided life-saving knowledge on how to treat spiritual problems with simple, yet powerful self-healing remedies and spiritual practice, giving relief to thousands of people worldwide. Our SSRF website is replete with many case studies of people from all walks of life and from different cultures being helped at the physical, psychological and spiritual levels. Due to this spiritual research, they have become aware of the most beneficial types of spiritual practice and spiritual healing remedies for the current era.
The Spiritual Research Centre has one of the largest collections of items and artefacts in the physical plane (visible world) which have been affected or manipulated by entities from the subtle planes of existence (invisible world). The very fact that we have been able to identify such items, analyse them and store them for future generations to see is because of the foresight of Paratpar Guru Dr Athavale.
Every now and again, we hear stories about some miraculous phenomena occurring somewhere in the world and how devotees flock to that place to be able to see it. However, at the Spiritual Research Centre and Ashram we have been privy to hundreds if not thousands of such phenomena. In fact, there are so many such phenomena, both positive and negative occurring on a daily basis due to higher level positive and negative energies. The fact that we are able to recognise and witness this abundance of spiritual phenomena is all due to Paratpar Guru Dr Athavale’s presence and His guidance.
All these positive and negative phenomena have been recorded and stored diligently in a spiritual museum.
5. Yearning for humanity to get spiritual knowledge to ease their suffering
On the SSRF website there is an article that discusses the pros and cons of burying versus cremating as a funeral practice for the dead. When the article was written, the benefits of cremation were given from the viewpoint when all the aspects of rites as per the Spiritual Science are adhered to, such as recitation of mantras, performing certain rituals, using a proper funeral pyre, etc. Then one day a seeker brought to our attention that if someone overseas (outside of India) wants to be cremated, the only option they have is to be cremated in a crematorium, which is unlike how the cremation ritual is meant to be conducted. In such crematoriums, there are no rituals conducted, recitation of mantras or understanding of how such mantras can help a subtle body in its onward journey in the afterlife.
Sean mentioned this to Paratpar Guru Dr Athavale. On taking a subtle reading of the various funeral methods, Paratpar Guru Dr Athavale said that the spiritual benefit of the funeral pyre method accompanied with mantras far outweighed the process applied in a crematorium. Then He thought for a bit and said, “How can we help the subtle bodies of those who are cremated in a crematorium ?” Almost immediately, He continued to speak and said that we should upload the necessary mantras on the website. When Sean asked him whether we should charge a nominal fee for the audio files to cover production costs, He replied by saying, “No, give it to society free-of-charge; we do not have any copyright on these mantras”. Later He said that these mantras are a gift to humanity from Ancient India and no one person has authority over them. They should be given free to all of humanity.”
While Paratpar Guru Dr Athavale was speaking, Sean’s spiritual emotion (bhav) got awakened. He felt Paratpar Guru Dr Athavale’s unconditional love (Priti) for society. This incident reinforced in Sean’s mind how Paratpar Guru Dr Athavale is constantly thinking of how people from all over the world, including subtle bodies from the afterlife can benefit from the spiritual knowledge available at the Spiritual Research Centre and Ashram. This is so that it can help alleviate the suffering caused due to spiritual distress.
6. Making the next generation self-sufficient and helping seekers gain spiritual mastery in their disciplines
As Paratpar Guru Dr Athavale has a highly advanced sixth sense and access to Divine Knowledge, He has the unique ability to guide seekers in various disciplines and arts. Many seekers have witnessed how He has spiritual prowess and mastery in every field. He is able to attract and generate spiritually positive vibrations in every project of every field. However, His unconditional love and greatness lies in His ensuring that seekers and Saints are developed in each field to the extent that they become self-sufficient.
For this to happen, He painstakingly looks into every minute detail of each and every project so that He can guide and develop each seeker’s understanding and insight into his respective field. At the end of every project even though He has been instrumental in getting it done, He gives all credit to God and all the seekers involved in the project.
7. Being Principle oriented
Paratpar Guru Dr Athavale has always taught seekers how to be Principle oriented and to have faith in the Universal principles that govern Spirituality. In doing so, He has helped seekers not to just rely on Him but to have complete reliance on the Science of Spirituality. For example, let us say a seeker is suffering from spiritual distress; instead of creating a culture where people go and heal the seeker, He encourages the seeker to learn spiritual healing remedies so that he can heal himself.
Out of His spiritual love, Paratpar Guru Dr Athavale has shown seekers over and over again that He does not want people to rely on His physical form but on His eternal form, which is the unmanifest Guru Principle. This helps seekers to be stable in all situations as the unmanifest Guru Principle does not have limitations of time and space.
8. His unconditional love and yearning for as many people as possible to witness the Divine Kingdom
One the main aspects of the mission of Paratpar Guru Dr Athavale has been to pave the way to herald in the new era of spiritual awakening on Earth. This era has often been referred to as the Divine Kingdom on Earth. However, the road to this new era, which will start in 2024, is going to be fraught with disaster and destruction where a large part of the World’s population will perish.
On the SSRF website, milestone dates of what will happen in the run up to 2024 have been published as early as 2007. Initially, the period of severe destruction was predicted during the years 2015 to 2023. For a person to live to see the new era, Paratpar Guru Dr Athavale has always said that it will depend on the efforts that they are making to grow spiritually. As we came closer to the period of intense destruction, one day Paratpar Guru Dr Athavale said to change the dates of the period of intense destruction from 2015 – 2023 to 2019 – 2023 on the website.
Upon hearing this, the seekers who were present, experienced that their spiritual emotion got awakened. In that moment they felt His intense love for humanity and His spiritual strength as they witnessed humanity getting a reprieve from the terrible times. Only a Saint of the highest order through His Sankalp (resolve) can effect such changes in the course of human history. In changing the dates, we felt that He had compressed the really bad period, giving humanity a chance to prepare for the times to come. The magnitude and the solemnity of that moment and what the seekers had witnessed will stay with them throughout their lives.
5. Conclusion
History will look back at this time and talk about the greatness of Paratpar Guru Dr Athavale, His contribution to the spiritual upliftment of humanity and the spiritual awakening of society to understanding the spiritual dimension. He is the rarest of the rare – a Samashti Paratpar Guru (One who can take the entire human society towards God). Yet even though His mission is so immense, the humility and love with which He goes about His daily affairs and how He interacts with others is something that we all aspire to follow.
For all seekers, their memories of their interactions and relationship with Him are so special as they are all cocooned in the unconditional love He has shown them. For us seekers who experienced Him first-hand, we will forever be grateful for this once in a lifetime opportunity to be in His presence and the love that He has shown us will be etched in our hearts forever. He is the embodiment of the concept that leadership should be founded on unconditional love for others.
Our prayer is that we learn and practice to love and serve humanity as He has shown us and if we were to emulate Him even a little, it would be a life well-lived.
