A. Severity of distress

Mild distress	Sea salt and mustard seeds
Moderate distress	Sea salt, mustard seeds and red dried chillies
Severe distress	Only red dried chillies, coconut containing water and alum

B. Availability of substances to be used in the ritual

This depends on the severity of distress

Mild distress	Once a week
Moderate distress	More than once a week depending on the severity
Severe distress	Every day till complete relief from distress
