What do you think of when you hear the term mantra? Perhaps the word may remind you of Indian verses you have heard, you may have heard that chanting mantras  can bring about spiritual progress or you may not be sure what a mantra is. By definition, a mantra is a collection of letters that assists in attaining a favourable outcome and in vanquishing obstacles. Chanting of mantras  can yield different benefits including spiritual progress, acquisition of supernatural powers, nullification of sins and purification of speech. However, at SSRF we recommend chanting the Name of God as the simplest and most rapid means of spiritual growth. This is because there are restrictions to chanting mantras. For example, mantras need to be recited at particular times and places while chanting the Name of God can be done anytime and anywhere.
